I don't mean to butt in and steal up blog space with tales of mine, Shotty, and Fortune's West Coast revelry --- because I definitely want to hear about Tina's birthday. Bry was relaying a hilarious Limmer moment to me and I can't wait to learn more --- but, we did just premiere MPH4 Kids this past Saturday night (and we followed that up with a Middle School Dance Party and a 7th Grade Sleep Over). All in all, it was a great night. After a little trouble with DVD Studio Pro, everything ran smoothly. People seemed to have a blast, no neighbors complained, and MPH4 Kids got a very warm reception. This could very well be the best movie power hour to date... I feel confident saying it's that good. I'm sure you guys are going to really like it. In fact, I was telling Shotty about how I was getting goosebumps while envisioning the inevitable seizure Tony will have after witnessing the opening. The new menu is fantastic (Dan did a great job and we certainly upped the ante), the order feels perfect (I'm very happy with the ending sequence of films), and it just rubs me as a great facilitator of an awesome drunken night with friends. I know I'm hyping it a ridiculous amount, but that's because 1) I really do think it's good, and 2) This is almost like MPHs swan song (at least for the next year or so) because as I've previously mentioned, I'm going to be taking a good deal of time off from making power hours, in order to concentrate on other endeavors (plus I'm going to be working like crazy, in a good way, once I start back up with Shawn Levy's company in August). So, I'm exceedingly pleased with how MPH4 Kids turned out, and I can rest easy, knowing that we've got an amazing box-set of five DVDs (MPH, MPH2, MPH3, MPH4 Kids, and JBPH) ready to be released this Christmas. Also, I still very much plan on spreading MPH (for free) to college kids all across the country. I have all the materials (envelopes, stamps, dvds, cover letter) ready to go, I just need someone to assist me in my record keeping, help me hunt down addresses, and keep me on-track and on-time with my mailings. I'll also need suggestions from everyone as to who we should be mailing these copies. I'll keep you guys posted.
So that's the MPH4 Kids news. Bring on the stories from this past weekend... God, I can't wait for 3 weeks from now. This wedding is going to be awesome.

Absolutely cannot wait to see this, how about we make its East Coast premiere the night before the wedding?
Keep up the good work, West Coasters, but please stop pillaging our ranks. With J going out there, you guys are going to be a little too strong for comfort over here.
Rand, I hope we get at least one more epically long, Randism-full post before you head back to work with Shawn. And I will definitely be in on helping to set up the MPH mailing list (as long as we can start in late August.)
Wow...my excitement cannot be put into words
I second the motion for the east coast premiere on Friday.
I also cant wait for the day when Rand is big enough in hollywood that he can delegate the production of MPH 17 to his assistant.

haha... nice... a couple quick notes:
Dre, I plan on doing a running diary of your wedding (don't worry, I'm not dragging my laptop along... I'll simply be jotting thoughts down in to a tiny notebook all throughout the weekend... I promise it won't be distracting though, seriously)... so hopefully what I churn out will satisfy your request for a Randism-full post.
Also, the mailings won't begin prior to the end of August, so I will certainly take you up on your offer to help out with those.
I looked up the movie "A Far Off Place" (one of Dre's only requests for MPH4 Kids) and it turns out it's not as obscure as we all thought. In fact, I remember watching it as a kid. It stars Reese Witherspoon and Ethan Embry before either one was big (not that Ethan Embry ever really got "big"). Unfortunately, I was not able to recall a fantastic minute, and the order had pretty much already been set. I still think you'll enjoy what you see though.
For all of you "Monster Squad" fans out there... Blockbuster does not start renting this film for another two weeks (I have no idea why) and seeing as how that is the case, I wasn't able to grab a minute from it. Just wanted to clear that up before anyone got their heart-broken...
Chris, I think you'll be very happy to see a minute I included that ranked high on your list.
I will totally comply with a Friday night East Coast Premiere... as long as the bride and groom are okay with it (and it sounds like they are... or at least the groom is). We could use it to pre-game before going out on Friday.
Also, I figured I should mention that the final tally of requests for MPH4 Kids totalled over 150... meaning, that there were some hard decisions, but I think the cream did rise to the top... this also means that a sequel isn't out of the question (however, I'm not sure when that would get done)... at some point I'd still love to knock out a TV Power Hour (per Mark's request), a Sports Power Hour (per my own personal goal), a Planet Earth Power Hour (per Dre's request), and an MPH17 (per Sam's request for my future assistant).
According to a Horror Movie magazine I came across while reorganizing the magazine shelves at work, Monster Squad has reached cult classic status and is only just being released on July 24th
There are apparently midnight showings of it and even mummerings of a possible sequel with the same characters only all grown up
And Rand, I am sure the ones that did make the cut were all top notch, be them definitely yeses, yeses, maybe yeses, maybes, maybe nos, nos, or definitely nos
rand, i can't wait to see it. are you really making box sets?? that would be so cool.
i think we can do the premire on friday night before the wedding as long as we can make a good time for everyone who wants to be a part of it to sit down together. that might be tricky, considering you guys are all invited over to the hotel bar after the rehearsal dinner. let's play it by ear!
