Left (Coast) Out

Hey guys,

It sounds like Bry's party was a great time. I'm sorry that Limmer didn't get to drink to his full capacity, but I'm sure he put up a good fight when Dana said it was time to leave. I remember when I once tried to get a drunk Limmer to stop drinking late, late into the evening. Lim turned into the Miz and chased Bry and I back to the Gardens.

"Sandwiches That You Will Like" actually came up in a conversation I was having the other day. Of course, I had to mention that my roommate kept his porno (I think it was called "Rocko's Modern Fantasies" or something) in the case, but we made him bring up his VHS copy of the PBS special. Haha, I just remembered that the morning when we finally got around to watching that movie was the same morning that Tully first hung out with us. We made her sit through 2 hours of that freaking video. That's awesome.

Well I've been having a good time out here in Los Angeles. I finally moved into a bedroom this past weekend, so I really feel settled in now. Dan and I have started a "no shower happy hour" tradition on Saturdays. We head down to Venice, play volleyball, boogeyboard (while everyone else surfs... the only other people that boogey are the fully-clothed Mexican children), then we mosey on over to an Irish pub in between Venice and Santa Monica, and chow down on half-priced appetizers and $3 beers (which is cheap for out here)... We still need to get a bowling night up and running, and get ourselves over to a bar in Burbank for trivia, but it's tough to replicate the "lightning in a bottle" greatness of the trifecta we had established in Ithaca.

Over July 4th, Shotty and I went down to Playa Del Rey to hang out with Jamie (Dan's old roommate) and her boyfriend Spencer. Fortune stopped down on Saturday and Tuesday. We had a blast. Spencer lives 50 yards from the sand and his neighborhood is sweet; it's totally a beach bum community. Everybody hangs out and parties together. We did some grilling while we were down there. I whipped up a quick rub using flour, lousiana spices, pepper, and soy sauce... it actually tasted pretty good. When we weren't chowing down, we were drinking beer from the kegerator that Spencer and his roommate have planted inside of a gutted out big screen tv. They also have a spy camera inside of the big screen and a small monitor that camera plays on.

I think Shotty might have partied a little too hard because by 5 o'clock he was passed out on the beach. He woke up later on, but it was pretty hilarious when Jamie handed him the kite and he unconsciously flew the purple octopus. While he was sleeping, someone pointed out to him that there was a midget playing volleyball (as you can see in the background), so Dan let the kite go in hopes of hitting her. He didn't get very close.

Work has been going pretty well. We just had a friends and family screening of the film last Friday, so Ben and Christine stopped in. The first trailer will be coming out with "Pirates of the Carribean" this Friday. The movie is constantly undergoing changes and morphing, so what you see in the preview isn't up to where we are right now. It's still good, but the director, the producers, and Ben are really happy with recent changes that have been made in the past few weeks. I'll mention more about the movie in my next post.

Dre - if by some miracle, Charlotte wins the NBA title next year, promise me that you will grow out a Chico 'stache and get married in an Adam Morrison jersey.

They're still airing "Next"? Wow. I gotta get back into my cheesey MTV reality shows. I missed "Fresh Meat" this past Monday. I can't wait 'til Wes gets booted.
