Tina, you are well aware of how you can get Jared and I out on the East Coast to celebrate 613 day (which falls on a Friday this year!). I've laid out this list of conditions for you when you were out here over Spring Break, but I've decided to put it in print and post it on the blog.
1: You must have a wild party at the Capozzi residence (preferably without your parents home because I hear they've banned 613ers).
2: At least six 613ers (including Jared and I) must be in attendance. If you can get all 613ers that would be AMAZING. ICFHers and Friends of the Family should not only be welcome, but encouraged to come.
3: Jared and I must be able to purchase round trip tickets (including tax and surcharges) for $350 or less.
4: Someone will need to pick us up at the airport, and drive us back for our return flight.
5: Since we'll already be dropping a bunch of money on a plane ticket, we must not be expected to pay for anything.
This list of demands might sound a bit snobbish (I'm specifically referring to the last one), but keep in mind, I'm NOT saying that the only way we'll fly back is if all those conditions are met... I'm simply stating that IF all of those conditions are met, you have my word: WE WILL BE THERE. Any weekend out of the year. Caveat - I can only promise one trip in a 3-month span, meaning there will be a 3-month grace period, following one of these excursions, in which we will not be obligated to make the trek (considering the price of plane tickets would add up and take a toll on the old bank account)... I hope Jared doesn't mind me speaking for him. I'm pretty sure he was drunk the last time we discussed and agreed upon this.
On a side (but somewhat related) note: I was telling Jared and Jamie how I really want for all 613ers to have an extra copy of our house key, so that one of you can just fly in on a random Friday (without any previous notice) and be sitting on our couch drinking beer (ala Tony) when we arrive home from work for a blow-out weekend. Also, considering we live 2 miles from LAX, I'd love to drop my bike off in the morning - chained to one of the fences in a nearby airport parking lot - where someone could exit their plane, walk over to the parking lot, unlock the bike, and take a quick ride down to our place. Call me a dreamer, I just think that would be awesome.

Alright Rand, (or FDR?) I'll bite to this "New Deal." While I can't say I exactly remember all these terms from my visit, they all seem fair.
Here's what I'm thinking about your conditions and the likeliness of them being met:
1. While it seems rather impossible to have a blow out party in June at the Capozzi house, I did realize that my parents will be in China two weeks longer than I will this summer which leaves plenty of opportunity.
While the first weekend I'm expecting to live in the office I think I might be able to work something out. That or just play the birthday card of my parents again. Although, I suppose I am getting a little old to keep asking for a pool party each year...
2. I would sincerely hope that this isn't a problem considering the amount of 613ers on the east coast right now, not to mention the amount in the tri-state area. Still, we never can tell if Bryan will decide to bail and go to some cardiac class instead.
3. I am a bargain sleuth. Try me.
4. Done. I'll try to even get Raheead from HIMYM if one of us can't pick you up.
5. I wouldn't ask this from any of my guests... that is unless there's an issue like last year where we drank the entire weekend's supply of beer in the first night. Oohh 613.
I think those demands are perfectly reasonable and the more I think about it the more I think I can remember counting them on my fingers when you were telling me, but only remember the number rather than the actual demands.
The only thing that I would need to know is the day situation for you guys. Would it definitely have to be a Friday red-eye and back to work on Monday morning? Or is there leverage with days? If so, is it easier to skip of Friday or Monday?
I really think that this could work again, a belated 613 Day Celebration! I mean, even if I can't have it at my house we could always go back to Huron (anyone?).
The 3 month span, also perfectly reasonable. I feel like in general we should be a more trans-continental group and try to have at least one person make a trip every 3-6 months. Like one big game of Red-Rover, haha. What is wrong with my imagination?
Alright Bs and Gs I'm off to work, but before I go I was looking at new cell phones yesterday and they told me I was eligible of an upgrade on... yes, June 13th.
Ohh how the world works in funny ways.
Have a great day everyone!
:)
